Master Coulson
Born and raised in Barrie, Taekwondo Master Don Coulson has been coaching
and instructing various disciplines for decades and in 2022 earned a 7th Dan
from his long-time teacher 9 th Dan Grandmaster HK Min of Edmonton, Alberta.
Master Coulson and his family founded Barrie Taekwondo Club in 1999 and
have produced many dozens of black belt families since.
His 50 year martial arts journey spans multiple disciplines and includes
competing at the world level in Korea, giving him a wide range of abilities and
a deep respect for the traditions and techniques of each art.
Master Coulson’s enjoyment now lies in sharing his experience with Barrie
Taekwondo students while continuing to train toward an 8 th Dan grading and
mountain biking as much as possible.


Master Lawrenson
Master Lawrenson is a certified 6th Dan instructor, with over 30 years of taekwondo experience. He is a dedicated instructor with a defined passion and focus within all aspects of martial arts that is evident in his teaching style. With a traditional, progressive teaching style in building skills, fostering student confidence and commitment resulting in a strong moral character and drive for excellence.


Master Kim
Master Oleg Kim started his Martial Arts journey as a judoka at the age of 8. With a decade of experience, he boasts a Black Belt in Judo. In his early twenties, he transitioned to the art of Taekwondo. His mentor on this path was Master Han Che Sung, a 5th Degree Black Belt, who successfully competed at the national level in South Korea. As a dedicated instructor at Dynamis Martial Arts, Master Kim stands out for his results-oriented and personalized approach to training. He helps students to set the right individual objectives and guides them toward those goals by fostering an environment of focus, discipline, diligence, and unwavering consistency.


Instructor Kim
Instructor Simon Kim is the son of Master Oleg Kim and has been under his tutelage to train in the martial art of Taekwondo. He is a 1st Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo and has competed in several Canadian tournaments. Similar to his father, Simon holds high standards of discipline and respect, emphasizing not only technical skill but also character development in his students.
